Bio

Gwendolyn Burk is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. Her individual, family and group therapy practice has been informed—and transformed—by her longstanding clinical work with  communities living with HIV/AIDS, coming to terms with Life’s End through palliative and hospice care, dealing with grief and loss, coping with aging and memory care in assisted and nursing facilities and managing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She earned her Master’s in Education from Temple University and her Master’s in Social Services from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research in the Philadelphia area. She assists  clients, students and registered interns with a compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centered therapy style and reflective supervision. She blends Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with other modalities including Radical Acceptance, Mindfulness and Meditation practices. She practices Tibetan Buddhism, Taiji and Qigong regularly for self-care and to support her clients. In her free time, Gwendolyn loves cooking, playing piano, reading, traveling and taking walks with her four legged and two-legged pack members.
