Joint Commission Accredited Addiction Treatment
Unfortunately, not all addiction treatment programs are created equal. Some make claims of being able to provide fast, miracle results while having no verifiable data to back up these assertions.
At Tranquil Shores, we provide a customized treatment approach to those with addiction problems and mental health issues. Plus, we have gone through the lengthy process of being evaluated by the Joint Commission and received our accreditation from this body. Knowing you or your loved one are participating in a Joint Commission accredited program can give you peace of mind, as we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the basic state licensing requirements.
In addition, Tranquil Shores is an approved provider of PRN and IPN, the two programs designated by Florida’s Impaired Practitioners Program to serve physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who suffer from an impairment. These accreditations and certifications provide an added value to our clients throughout the Tampa Bay area who trust us with their treatment.
What Does Joint Commission Accreditation Really Mean?
The Joint Commission is one of the two most prominent accrediting organizations for addiction programs in the nation. Previously called the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), this body makes it their goal to improve the quality of care patients receive by ensuring accredited facilities meet the highest standards.
The accreditation process is not easy, and many addiction treatment programs forgo it altogether. The intensive steps it takes to become accredited involves time and money, as well as a close, hard look at how the facility runs. This includes different facets of the program, like:
- Daily and overall operations
- Client care
- Staff education and training
- Safety protocol
- Policies
- And more
As a recipient of Joint Commission accreditation, Tranquil Shores has shown that our facility is striving for excellence in everything we do, from the way we run our business to the compassionate care we provide our clients.
Value We Provide to Clients by Being Accredited
First and foremost, accreditation from the Joint Commission means Tranquil Shores is a safe place for you or your loved one struggling with addiction. When researching treatment programs, it may be difficult to determine which has the best techniques and if the staff is committed to professional client care. However, as a Joint Commission Certified facility, you can trust that a team of objective officials has thoroughly examined our operation to ensure we meet their exacting standards.
Additional value that our accreditation provides to our clients includes:
- Confidence in the caliber of our care, treatment and services
- Assurance that we conduct ourselves with decorum knowing that we are overseen by a third-party
- A highly trained staff that exceeds all needed requirements
- A reminder that Tranquil Shores is one of the most respected names in healthcare
Approved Provider of PRN and IPN in Florida
In the past, there was no oversight or protection for medical workers who became impaired. Both the Professionals Resource Network (PRN) and the Intervention Project for Nurses (IPN) are programs designated by Florida’s Impaired Practitioners Programs that consult with the Department of Health (DOH) in all matters relating to practitioner impairment.
Impairment can be caused by substance abuse, mental illness, a physical condition or disruptive tendencies. When a physician, nurse or another healthcare worker becomes impaired, the PRN and IPN provide an avenue of rehabilitation, monitoring and treatment for these individuals. These two programs not only protect the welfare, health and safety of the public, but they also support the integrity of health care teams and other medical professionals.
As an approved provider of both PRN and IPN, Tranquil Shores is devoted to supporting medical professionals through every step of their recovery process. Some of the benefits this provides to those who require addiction treatment include:
- Improved prognosis of recovery
- High-quality treatment by an experienced provider
- Advocacy during and after recovery among regulatory agencies, insurance plans and regulatory agencies
