
Psychodrama a Deux
Course Description:
Psychodrama is primarily seen as a group modality, but many therapists use psychodrama a deux (psychodrama with two) with dynamic results. Most client’s report that sessions using this technique move them more quickly and effectively through difficult emotional issues. Participants will take home specific tools for working with a wide variety of populations in individual counseling and will learn to use, apply and practice the skills of Psychodrama a Deux.

Bio for Susan:
Susan Mullins Overman, LMHC, TEP has worked with eating disorders, trauma and substance abuse for the past 20 years. She is a primary therapist at Hyde Park Counseling Center, a women’s residential treatment center in Tampa, Florida.
Susan has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Florida. She is a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner of Psychodrama. She is passionate about this powerful healing modality and uses psychodrama in her work with clients both individually and in group.
Along with Sandra Seeger, LMHC, PAT she co-founded South Tampa Psychodrama Training. They have presented trainings on psychodrama locally and nationally. They are the authors of “Sociodrama A Deux: A New Hybrid” published in the Journal of Psychodrama, Sociodrama and Group Psychotherapy. Susan is the past secretary of the local Tampa Bay Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She is on the scholarship committee for the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama and is past president of the Tampa Bay Association for Women Psychotherapists
Bio for Sandy:
Sandy Seeger, LMHC, PAT is in private practice in Tampa, Florida using action methods for over 20 years with children and families. She specializes in eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety treatment for children. In addition, she currently teaches Group Counseling Methods at the University of South Florida. She and Susan Mullins Overman co-created South Tampa Psychodrama Training and have conducted trainings at multiple conferences and venues. Sandy has served on several boards locally including; Kathy’s Place for Grieving Children and The Tampa Bay Association of Women Psychotherapists transferring and encouraging the use of psychodrama in those new venues. In her free time she is helping to build a Playback Theater troupe in Tampa.
Susan and Sandy will be presenting on Sociodrama A Deux, at the International psychodrama conference in London later this year.
