Life Skills at Tranquil Shores

Often times in addiction, we forget how to handle some of the most basic skills in life. Many come to Tranquil Shores without normal coping skills to handle some of the simplest of tasks. Life skills are the common everyday skills you need to manage your life effectively and cope with everyday challenges and obstacles. Skillz 101 lead by Whitney Cash, CAP is an effort to promote self-reliance and taking responsibility for the client’s basic needs. “We are not born with instruction manuals about life,” says Cash, “formal schooling focuses much more on academics than personal adjustment, learning life skills is essential to developing our emotional intelligence, resilience, work-life balance and much more.” In early recovery, we have enough messes to clean up and these skills can help prevent making “new messes.” Tranquil Shores recently unveiled a series of new themes including Skillz 101, Cultural Consciousness, Money Matters, and Building Blocks to name a few. We take pride in consistently updating our program to match the needs of our clients. Call a credentialed counselor today and let them show you how to reclaim your life!
